Slough Farm is a nonprofit educational farm and gathering place named for Slough Cove of the Edgartown Great Pond. We are proud to teach regenerative agriculture on our working farm, and to support our fellow farmers, food equity organizations, and creative communities.
Grow
Regenerative farming restores the health of our soil, strengthens local food systems, and honors the Island’s long relationship with the land. By building living soils, conserving water, and supporting biodiversity, regenerative practices help farms grow resilient food while protecting the Vineyard’s fragile ecosystems for future generations.
Gather
Slough Farm creates space for people to connect—with the land, with food, and with one another. Through shared work, learning, and celebration, the farm becomes a welcoming place where community grows alongside the fields.
Impact
We strive to strengthen community through diverse partnerships and grant programs. Providing support, both financially and by working together, to have a positive impact on our island and its people. Our mission includes supporting our fellow island non profits and we work to improve islander quality of life as shared here.
Slough Farm fosters growth, curiosity, and collaboration through the integration of food, the arts, and culture with farming, place-based learning, and a commitment to community.
We are committed to the integration of small-scale, sustainable farming and the arts through place-based educational programming.
Facilitating collaborative exchange of skill, history, and perspective is part and parcel of our work. It is our hope that all our labors-- from weeding and harvesting shoulder-to-shoulder, to feeding our island community, to hosting artists-in-residence—aids this vision.
Community
Slough Farm is committed to supporting our island community in a variety of ways. Our beautiful, functional spaces are available to our fellow non profits to hold meetings and trainings, our food donations support those in need on the island and we thrive on partnerships with local organizations and schools.
Farm & Gardens
Farming and sustainable land management is the heart of Slough Farm. As part of that, we take pride in providing the best quality of life possible for our wide range of livestock. Farm products not used on site for programming are donated to our island food equity partners.
